Walgreens On Chia Obama: No You Can’t

Determined Obama Chia
I don’t know how I missed this story or this amazing new product!
First, Joseph Enterprises, the company that brings you (cha-cha) Chia Pets, decided to add a new face to its (Cha-Cha) Chia product line: Chia Obama.
There are actually two faces – Happy Chia Obama and Determined Chia Obama – so you can choose the Chia Obama that is right for you.
According to Joe Pedott, the founder of Joseph Enterprises, “I wanted it to be a statement saying, ‘I’m proud to be an American.’”
Chia Obama was being test marketed by Walgreens in Chicago and Tampa, but then Walgreens said, No You Can’t (sell them here).
Walgreens has ordered stores in Tampa and Chicago to remove the product, saying the ceramic planter molded in the apparent likeness of the president was not appropriate for sale.
“We decided to pull the product so we’re not subject to any political interpretation of the product,” Walgreens spokesman Robert Elfinger said.
Some customers gave Chia Obama favorable comments while others didn’t like it or found it had racist overtones, Elfinger said.
Mr. Pedott was surprised and saddened when he “received an e-mail from the drug chain’s top brass saying Chia Obama was not in line with Walgreens’ image.”
Walgreens sells “Shamwow” and a whole section of their website dedicated to As Seen On TV products, but they are worried about the impact that Chia Obama will have on their image? Seriously?
In any case, you can take a look at the ad for Chia Obama below.
Hey, whadayaknow? While perusing the Walgreens’ website, I think I found the answer to how that lady managed to lock herself in her car a week ago in a Walgreens’ parking lot and couldn’t figure out how to unlock her doors. Perhaps she had picked up a Durex Play Vibrations Focus inside her Walgreens and had just finished making sure it worked properly.
Walgreens may not be selling them, but never fear! You can pick one up at Amazon.com:
