Senator Chuck Schumer has this to say about the “porky amendments” in the ‘stimulus’ package: “The American people really don’t care.”

Maybe Chuck needs to check in with the “the American people”,  because according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released yesterday (CNN: Poll finds Obama more popular than his stimulus package) only slightly slightly more than half (54%) of ‘the American people’ support the bill and 45% oppose it.

Of course, maybe Chuck meant to say, “The Congressional Democrats really don’t care.”  Nancy Pelosi certainly doesn’t seem to care about the “porky” things in the package.
